Family Ministry Updates - 9/8/2019

Maggie needs volunteers for Wednesday Night programming for fall! Come enjoy programming with our youngest parishioners from September 19 - October 30. If you can help with any or all of those days, reach out to Maggie at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Family Promise is coming back to St. John’s in October, during Halloween week. Do you have any Halloween costumes lying around that don’t fit anymore? Maggie would like to gather options for the children who will be staying with us. Contact Maggie for more details, or if you would like to get involved in a Halloween costume swap shop during the week of Family Promise.

One of the goals for family ministries at St. John’s is to have everyone who interacts closely with our youth and children complete the Safe Church Training course offered by the diocese. Are you a Sunday School teacher, nursery volunteer, or EYC helper? Please consider attending the upcoming training being held at Trinity Cathedral on Wednesday, September 10, at 12:30 pm, if you are able. You will be contributing to the safekeeping of our youngest members!

EYC kickoff is SUNDAY!! 6th-12th graders, join us at 5:00 pm for a nerf battle, dinner, and compline. We will discuss the upcoming program year as well. Pick-up at 7:00.

Training for Acolytes  6th - 12th graders who want to get involved, or need a refresher please join Acolyte Master Brian McCants on Sunday, September 8, from 12 pm to 1 pm. Brian will train Crucifers (9th-12th grades) on Sunday, September 29, from 12 pm - 2 pm. Additionally, we will have an acolyte commissioning service on Sunday, October 13. If you are an active acolyte, you are invited to be commissioned at this service and receive an acolyte pin. We appreciate the youth of St. John’s who are involved in this way!
