The Rev. Scott R. Fleischer
The Rev. Scott Fleischer has served first as the Assistant to the Rector, and more recently, as the Associate Priest at St. John’s, since January, 2011. His main ministry responsibilities relate to his role as pastor, priest and teacher. Specifically, Scott celebrates and preaches at both our principal service of Holy Eucharist on Sundays, and at our mid-week worship service on Wednesdays. He also takes Holy Communion to the home-bound members. And he officiates at weddings, funerals, and baptisms. He teaches Adult Formation classes on various days throughout the week, including Sunday and Tuesday mornings and Wednesday evenings. He provides pastoral care for those grieving, as well as for those who are ill or recovering from surgeries. He also counsels couples preparing for marriage. And he is the staff liaison for Servant Ministries, Adult Formation, Pastoral Care, and Worship committees. In the wider church, has also served on various committees, commissions and task forces. He was elected to both Diocesan Executive Council (2013-2015), and to the General Convention (2015). In his free time, he enjoys listening to ‘80’s New Wave music and training for long distance races.
